Hello and welcome to the first post on my new Blog "The peregrine falcon". My name is Nathanael Falk, I'm 18 years old and from the beautiful city of Leipzig in Germany. You've propably noticed by now, that I'm no native english speaker, but I'll try to do this in english anyway, to reach a bigger audience all over the world. I hosted another blog previously under this domain, where I focused on german politics, ecology and other stuff. Despite that I found the blog pretty succesful (with only inconstant new blogposts but nearly 5000 views in 2 years) I decided to start something new here.
The reason for all of this is my journey beginning at the 29th of June, which will take me to Christchurch, New Zealand. From there I'm going to do a Work and Travel through the country. So this will be my stage for travel reports, pictures and maybe some videos.
You may find yourself wondering, why in the world I chose the name "The peregrine falcon" for this blog. Well, that's based on a little pun which is only working in german, but I found it suitable anyhow and will try to explain it to you. Translated into german, "peregrine falcon" means "Wanderfalke". "Wander" means "travel" and "Falke" - "falcon", but it's also very near to my family name "Falk". The peregrine falcon is the most widespreaded bird of prey in the world, you can find it almost anywhere on Earth, except for extreme polar regions and -funny but true- New Zealand. Well, i'll go to NZ to change that - and that's just for the beginning. I can imagine to report about trips to all kind of places on Earth over time.
Anyway! I don't want to bore you anymore, so enjoy the reading!
Welcome!
